Phil and Kirstie. Exeter: Location, Location, Location.

Even in the midst of the doom and gloom of the credit crunch, there are still some people who are buying and selling, and who better to offer sound advice than Kirstie and Phil in the new series of Location, Location, Location? This week, their job is to find two couples new homes around Exeter in Devon.

Exeter may be a picture postcard area with pretty villages, leafy lanes and seaside towns galore, but it's also a hotspot for second homes. Phil and Kirstie's first challenge is to find the ideal rural retreat for Nick and Nancy. They've moved four times in the last eight years due to Nick's job in the RAF, and now they need to put down roots.

Their idea of the perfect rural retreat? Among other things, plenty of outside space for the kids and dogs to run around. But there's an added complication that's going to make it all the harder for them to find the perfect property - they need an annexe for Nancy's mum to live in, too!

Step forward 'truth fairy', Kirstie Allsopp, whose job it is to find them all the perfect home with their £600,000 budget. A generous budget it may be, but Kirstie will still need to reach for her magic wand if she is to find the rural retreat that ticks all the right boxes.

Phil might need more than a magic wand to find the dream home that will persuade Al and Debbie to take the plunge. Al has never moved from his home town and has lived within a one-square-mile radius all his life! Now with three kids, the family are desperate for space. Can Phil and Debbie persuade Al to finally fly the nest?

With a budget of £375,000, Debbie hopes that a country property will make her a happy bunny, but she may struggle to love a derelict barn that Al has his eye on. Can the couple come to an amicable agreement?
