What’s the best thing about being home?
Being able to eat what ever u want when ever you want! Yum yum. And seeing friends and family of course!
What do you miss most about island life?
I’m missing everyone on the island! It’s really weird not waking up with them sprawled around me or all sitting down for our famous rice and lambs tongue which I don’t miss!
What was your most memorable moment?
Oh deary me, there are so many! Arriving on the island and none of us knowing what to do! The wrestling ring, I seem to remember being turned upside down while commentating and of course all the funny games we played i.e.: donkey derby, sports day, obstacle courses, the fashion show, all the raps and songs we made up!
Worst part of the Shipwrecked experience?
Ok the final beach party was defiantly the worst part of shipwrecked, it was horrible! I don’t cry easily and hadn’t cried in years, but loosing to the Tigers topped it of for me I was a mess (which is kind of embarrassing really) especially as I believed everyone one of my team mates on Sharks truly deserved it. But we got over it and still made the most of the last few days.
Who did you get on best with?
To be honest the nicest thing about being a Shark was that we all got on so well and that to me was the most important thing. I can honestly say I could have gone to any of them with a problem or issue and they would have cheered me up no mater what. Obviously I do have a special bond with the people I arrived on the island with first- Faith, Baz, Danny and Keris.
Anyone you won’t miss?
The chickens and that cockerel!
Who did you fancy?
No one, nah just kidding! Obviously I had a bit of a thing for Danny.
Would you do it all again?
Although we spent most of the time filthy, tired, hungry, wet, sandy and smelly. I would do it again in a heart beat!
Would you recommend it to anyone else?
I don’t think it’s for everyone, as we know from Katie’s experience. It is a lot harder than you think but I believe anyone can do it if they put their minds to it, and once you get over the yucky side of it you’ll have the best time.
How has the experience changed you?
I have learnt so much about myself. I’ve found I’m a lot stronger than I thought I was. I’m able to handle situations in a more realistic manner and I’m a lot more capable then I thought.
Was being “shipwrecked” what you had expected?
It was very different actually. You think you have it all sussed out in your head but when you actually get there and are living it, it’s a lot different. You have to learn to cope with building a waterproof shelter (which we wern’t very good at) and are responsible for collecting and keeping fire wood dry, keeping the fire going for food, rationing food so you don’t starve half way through the week and sharing every last grain of rice which can get quite tedious.
What does the future hold for you now?
At the moment I’m letting myself slip back into reality which is quite difficult. I want to enjoy life and being young cos as I’ve learnt the good times go quickly. I don’t know what the future holds for me and to be honest I like not knowing. I’m quite a spur of the moment kind of person so we’ll have to wait and see. It better be something exiting!
