179 dead in worst air disaster on South Korean soil

A total of 179 people on board the plane were killed which crashed while landing.

The Boeing aircraft had taken off from the Thai capital on a route launched by low-cost airline Jeju Air three weeks ago.

Its destination was Muan International Airport in south-western South Korea.

Video showed the plane speeding along the runway without landing gear before it hit a large barrier. The two flight attendants who survived were at the rear of the aircraft.
