2023 the most successful year for female stars in UK singles chart history – but are new artists benefitting?

It’s been the most successful year for female stars in the history of the UK singles chart – from major stars like Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus to TikTok sensations like PinkPantheress.

In fact, women spent a total of 31 weeks at the top of the charts – with seven of last year’s top ten biggest singles.

But are up-and-coming artists getting much of a look in?
