2m50 million doses of Covid jabs given in UK amid concerns over Indian variant
More than 50 million Covid vaccines have now been handed out in England with people aged 32 and 33 now eligible to get the jab. Ministers and experts are urging the public to get vaccinated as soon as they are able amid concerns that cases are starting to rise again across the country.
Germany has now banned UK travellers over concerns about the Indian variant. Surge testing is taking place in more areas where cases of it have been found, including parts of west London.
