Access to gyms for disabled people: marathon or a sprint?

One year on, No Go Britain investigates what the Paralympic legacy is for disabled people’s access to gyms and sport. Check out our interactive map to find out where your nearest accessible gym is.

Type your postcode in below to find out where your nearest accessible gym is as part of the Inclusive Fitness Initiative (IFI). If a gym is on the map, it has been assessed and accredited as a leisure facility which is enabling disabled people to become physically active.

There are three levels – provisional, registered and excellent – and the assessment process includes training, marketing, sports development, accessible facilities and fitness equipment. Data is courtesy of the English Federation of Disability Sport.

For more on access to sport for disabled people and the wider Paralympic legacy, watch Channel 4 News tonight at 7pm.
