Actor Michael Gambon dies aged 82

In the 1960s, Michael Gambon started his career alongside Laurence Olivier as an original member of the Royal National Theatre.

To television viewers in the 1980s he was the Singing Detective. But he’s best known to many for playing Professor Dumbledore in many of the Harry Potter films.

Today it was announced the actor had died peacefully, aged 82, surrounded by close family.
