She’s best known for starring as Lady Danbury in the hit series Bridgerton – but the actor Adjoa Andoh is now pouring all her creative energy into a production of Richard III at the Liverpool Playhouse.
She’s not only directing but playing the lead role of the notorious villain – snubbed by society because of his disability.
In this production, Richard is re-imagined as the only Black person in a Cotswold village – just like the one where Andoh grew up – as she explained when we sat down in between rehearsals.
