Affordable housing projects nominated for top architecture prize

The best building of the year will be crowned tonight – when the winner of British architecture’s top award, the Stirling Prize – is announced in London.

Two housing projects are among the nominees – a new development and a renovation. Both spotlight attempts to create modern, affordable housing for all – but they also highlight how much more funding will be required if the new Labour government wants to create a revolution in social housing
