Afghan opposition leader Ahmad Massoud says he’s ready for talks with Taliban

The Afghan opposition leader Ahmad Massoud says he is ready to talk with the Taliban and negotiate a settlement to end fighting in the Panjshir Valley, north of Kabul. Earlier, Taliban forces claimed they had fought their way into the area’s provincial capital, after stepping up their assault on the last remaining resistance fighters.
