Afghan refugees could face homelessness in UK say charities

Charities have raised concerns that Afghan refugees – many of whom helped British troops before the Taliban takeover – could end up homeless as a result of a new government plan to move them out of hotel accommodation.

The Veterans Minister Johnny Mercer today announced that roughly 8,000 people – including children – will be made a one-time offer of a home, but families who choose not to accept will have to make their own arrangements.
