Afghan women fight for their rights in historic summit

Since the Taliban returned to power three years ago, they’ve turned Afghanistan into a cage for women and girls. There’s no education after primary school, and women are banned from most workplaces, as well as hair salons, gyms and parks.

And now, new ‘vice and virtue’ laws ban them from even speaking in public.

This week, Afghan women living abroad are gathering in Albania to discuss how to protect women’s rights.
