Afghanistan earthquake: Taliban appeals for aid as thousands left injured and homeless

The Taliban deputy leader has appealed for international aid as Afghanistan struggles to cope with the thousands left injured and homeless by Wednesday’s earthquake.

The country’s healthcare system was already on the verge of collapse with a lack of drugs and resources, and now some men in the region are refusing to allow male doctors to attend to their wives and daughters.
