Afghanistan: UK prepares to rehouse thousands fleeing country

As Afghans struggle to board planes out of Kabul, the UK government promises “one of the most generous resettlement schemes in our country’s history”.

But while a lot of the details are still to be ironed out, preparations are well underway for rehousing thousands of Afghan men, women and children – including many currently being put up in hotels and other temporary accommodation.
