Algerian president reportedly home amid mass protests

Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika left his hospital bed in Geneva this afternoon to fly back to Algiers.

What awaited him were mass protests against his decision to run again for office in next month’s election.

The 82-year-old has already been in power for 20 years and now wants a 5th term.

He wants this even though he has hardly been seen in public since suffering a stroke in 2013.
