Amazon tax bill falls even as profits surge

It’s a tale of two retailers. One – an online giant vying to be the biggest company in the world – Amazon.  The other, House of Fraser – a high street stalwart which purveys high end goods in department store settings.  It’s now in serious trouble while Amazon paid less UK tax last year despite profits here almost trebling.  What’s behind this contrast in fortunes?
