America’s essential workers and how they’re coping in the pandemic

They’ve always been the people who’ve kept America running – the corner shop staff, the cab drivers, the delivery warehouse workers, the crop pickers.

But with much of the US still on lockdown because of coronavirus, it’s these essential workers who are compelled to keep on working outside the home, often with little or no safety net.

They’ve long felt undervalued by the American system, but as Kate Fisher reports, many now feel they’re risking their health for it.
