Aml Ameen on Yardie, Idris Elba’s directorial debut

Shot on location in east London and Jamaica, Idris Elba’s directorial debut explores the roots of 1980s dub culture in Britain, against a backdrop of drug dealing and high crime. Yardie, which opens in cinemas at the end of the month, tells the story of a young man who arrives in London from Jamaica seeking revenge after the murder of his older brother. We caught up with the film’s star, British actor Aml Ameen, to find out more.
