Anger, energy and art: Feminist artists once snubbed get major exhibition at Tate Britain

The Women’s Liberation Movement burst into public consciousness around 1970. Despite the liberalism promised by the Sixties, little had changed and women were angry.

That fury led to an explosion of creativity which was snubbed by the art world, but is now on display at the Tate Britain. ‘Women in Revolt!’ brings together art and activism.
