Antony Blinken holds talks with Chinese foreign minister in Beijing

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has described talks held today with his Chinese counterpart in Beijing as ‘candid, substantive and constructive’ and invited China’s foreign minister Qin Gang to further talks in Washington.

Mr Blinken had been due to visit earlier in the year, but his trip was cancelled after a row about alleged Chinese spy balloons flying over the USA.
