Anxiety in care homes over warning of rise in Covid infections

Care home providers are bracing themselves for a possible resurgence of coronavirus cases among vulnerable residents – as the disease continues to spread rapidly across the country.

The latest official figures show that another 3,330 new coronavirus infections in the UK have been confirmed. Another 5 deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours – taking the total to 41, 628.

And Scotland has also recorded its highest daily number of new cases since the beginning of May.
