Asylum seekers becoming homeless after Home Office support withdrawn

For refugees, the day you’re granted asylum is one that’s much anticipated. But it’s also a day which means Home Office support is withdrawn and you’re expected to find a private rented property or apply for council housing.

That is in very short supply.

New refugees have effectively seven days notice to leave Home Office hotels. Now some are facing the reality of homelessness in the country that’s supposed to be protecting them.
