Author Margaret Atwood: ‘England is not (yet) under totalitarian dictatorship’

“When they suspended the constitution, we didn’t wake up” – a famous line from The Handmaid’s Tale… and words that some would say have a certain resonance following the suspension of the UK’s parliament.

Last night Margaret Atwood was in London to launch her long-awaited sequel, The Testaments.

Handmaids were seen around the capital, and fans queued around the block to buy the book at midnight. We went to meet the celebrated author.
