At 87, entertainer Barry Humphries is still going strong, along with the characters he created – Sir Les Patterson, and Dame Edna. At great expense we have brought the three of them together to talk about how comedy, theatre and life have weathered the lockdown. It hasn’t been easy.
Barry himself has not set foot on a stage for a whole year. We found him sizing up the Hampstead Theatre Club for a possible future gig – as yet unscheduled. He was in an expansive mood – frankly hungry to talk to anyone – even me.
