Belgian police shoot dead man suspected of killing Swedish football fans

Police in Brussels have shot dead a gunman suspected of killing two Swedish men and injuring a third.

They were at the football stadium where Sweden was playing Belgium last night to qualify for the Euro 2024 tournament.

The match was called off at half time and a minute’s silence will be held at all this evening’s qualifying games.

Belgian prosecutors are not ruling out a connection to Israel’s war with Hamas.
