Bereaved families give heartbreaking evidence in Covid inquiry

Bereaved families have told the Covid inquiry that people who died were treated like ‘toxic waste’ – as they gave evidence for the first time.

It’s the last week of the inquiry’s first part – which has focused on how prepared the UK was for a pandemic.

Relatives described the lack of dignity in the deaths of their loved ones, and revealed the abuse and even death threats they’ve received from people who still deny the existence of Covid.
