Biden urges Hamas to accept Israeli ceasefire deal

Foreign Affairs Correspondent

Krishnan Guru-Murthy: ‘President Biden has urged Hamas to agree to a deal put forward by the Israelis, which would see the remaining hostages released in exchange for a permanent cessation.

Mr Biden described it as ‘truly a decisive moment’, as he set out the three point deal. He said people living inside Gaza had endured ‘sheer hell’, declaring that too many civilians had been killed. Hamas said it wanted a ceasefire, he said – adding ‘this is an opportunity to prove whether they really mean it.’
