Boris Johnson admits misleading Parliament but denies it was intentional

To deliberately mislead parliament is an offence that could end the career of any MP, let alone a former Prime Minister.

It’s no surprise then that Boris Johnson’s submission rebutting the accusation that he did just that, runs to 52 pages.

He tells the Privileges Committee, who will interrogate him tomorrow, that although he did mislead the Commons when he told MPs that there had been no lockdown parties in Downing Street, it was not intentional and he corrected the record when he could.
