There is hope that an effective coronavirus vaccine will be ready by the end of this year, according to the head of the World Health Organisation – as over 180 different potential vaccines across the world are rushed through clinical trials.
In Bradford, large-scale human trials of the Novavax vaccine have begun their phase 3 trials, the first in the world to reach this stage with this particular vaccine.
But the team say they need many more people from BAME communities to volunteer to take part.
