Brexit: reducing net migration

Theresa May last night told EU leaders that she wants to reach a deal on the status of EU citizens living here in the UK early in the Brexit negotiations. One of the main issues up for discussion in any Brexit deal will be freedom of movement. David Cameron failed in his pledge to reduce net migration to the tens of thousands – indeed, net migration from the EU was higher-than-ever in the year ending in June.
