British Museum recovered some of the 2000 stolen artefacts says chair George Osborne

Some of the 2,000 artefacts which are thought to have been stolen from the British Museum are starting to be recovered, according to the chair of trustees George Osborne.

The former chancellor apologised on behalf of the museum, but admitted more could have been done to prevent the thefts. An unnamed member of staff suspected of being involved has been sacked, while the museum is working closely with police to establish exactly what’s missing.
