British tourists in Jamaica warned to stay in resorts

Troops are going out onto the streets in a crackdown on violent crime. A state of emergency was declared in St James on the north of the island on Thursday, where the authorities say there’s been a surge in gang-related killings and violence. The British foreign office said holidaymakers should be careful travelling around the island, especially at night.
