British-Ugandan athlete runs from South Africa to London

Sports reporter

A British-Ugandan athlete has arrived in London after running all the way from South Africa to raise awareness about racism.

It took Deo Kato 518 days to cover the 8,230 miles from Cape Town. His journey took him through war zones and along the way he endured serious illness, several weeks in jail and – after reaching Europe – daily racist abuse. But he said other experiences restored his faith in humanity.
