British Virgin Islands premier arrested on suspicion of cocaine smuggling

The UK government could suspend the parliament in the British Virgin Islands after its leader Andrew Foy was arrested on suspicion of cocaine smuggling and money laundering in a sting by US agents.

The islands in the Caribbean are a British Overseas Territory and have become notorious as a tax haven for dirty money and the UK government was separately planning to take action before last night’s arrest.
