Budget: GPs urge chancellor for National Insurance exemption

Leading GPs have urged the chancellor to make practices exempt from the higher national insurance contributions by employers – announced in this week’s budget.

They said it could force some care homes to shut down altogether – while surgeries which are already struggling to keep going would have to lay off staff.
