Businesses fear government cuts to energy bill support

Ministers have unveiled details of the new scheme to help businesses with their energy bills – but it offers a lot less overall support than before.

The Government has set aside five and a half billion pounds for the new energy bill discount scheme – which will come into force when the current cap on wholesale costs ends in March.

That cost the Government about eighteen billion pounds over six months.
