By-election triggered after Margaret Ferrier ousted as MP

A by-election will be held in the Rutherglen and Hamilton West constituency – after a successful petition to recall the Covid rule-breaking MP Margaret Ferrier.

The former Scottish National Party member had been suspended from the Commons for 30 days – and will now be removed from her seat.
