Blair: Koran burning pastor ‘does not represent us’

Just been speaking to Tony Blair at his Faith Foundation on the Koran burning threat in the US. I asked what it said about the fragility of relations between East and West that one pastor with a tiny following could threaten havoc?

He said: “there is fragility and what is important is for Muslims to hear from people like me and to know that the pastor does not represent us any more than extremists represent the truth about Islam.”

For the record, on other matters, his friends say Tony Blair is a bit baffled by Tom Watson’s remarks that he’d sought assurances from the Met that his phone hadn’t been hacked because he didn’t have a mobile phone when he was Prime Minister.

You can see what Tony Blair has to say about Pastor Terry Jones of Florida on Channel 4 News tonight.
