Access all areas: the BNP's new power

One by-product of the European elections – Nick Griffin and Andrew Brons, the two new BNP Euro MPs, are both to get high-security passes to the Houses of Parliament.

It is just one of many perks of being an MEP that a Westminster pass goes with the job.

Chris Davies MEP from the North West of England says: “They’ll both get full Commons passes – all MEPs get them.”

The pass has a few restrictions but it is effectively a full one.

Another embarrassment for the establishment also looms over possible invites for BNP MEPs to Buckingham palace. Again Davies says: “MEPs routinely get an invitation to the Buckingham palace garden party.

“I’ve had quite a few invitations to it, so unless they change the qualifications it will be the same for the BNP.”
