An important time to debate the issues

I always read the comments on Snowblog but rarely have time to respond, but I feel the response to yesterday’s posting and to unfolding events speaks volumes about the qualities that exist in the country beyond the “political classes”.

Stuart Tunstead’s wise observations about the constitution and the need for a “separation of powers particularly struck me. Elaine’s specific thoughts about Hazel Blears, too.

I loved the the J Swift’s link to the radio ad posted on the Guardian site. I agreed too with Evie Murray over Brown’s capacity to keep his cool in the Commons yesterday when all about him were losing their own.

We will try to pursue John B’s question about what really happened to la Blears’ cheque. Has she paid up?

And finally V Sehdeva, an important critique of our own behaviour… I don’t like to have to “re-view” what I have done on a given programme. I wonder how our own efforts will measure up when we look back in a year’s time, during which there will have had to have been a general election?

Mr Sehdeva, keep watching, though it pains you, and I hope everyone will continue the debate. Life in cyberspace was never so important as it is now!
