Whining or winning at the Delhi Games?
Is the pendulum starting to swing back? India clearly needs to sort out the situation at the athletes’ village as best they can, but are the expectations of some of the commentators and those involved starting to sound a bit silly? However well they prepared the competition was still going to be in Delhi, and that means a certain amount of chaos, dirt, traffic, mosquitos and poor people who cannot, unlike in China, be simply placed out of sight. You cannot make India look entirely shiny and new, because it isn’t. And if it was, then what would be Indian about it?
