Iran nuclear deal: the final scene set as deadline looms
Negotiators trying to reach a deal over Iran’s nuclear programme look set to work well beyond tonight’s midnight deadline in search of an agreement .
Foreign ministers from Iran and six world powers have been locked in talks for nearly a week to agree on a framework to curb Tehran’s ability to develop a nuclear bomb, in return for a partial lifting of crippling international sanctions.
At his swearing in before the Knesset on Tuesday, Israel’s newly returned prime minister, Binyamin Netanyahu, repeated warnings he made before the US congress earlier this month that the an agreement with Iran paves the way for country to have nuclear weapons.
But there’s no knowing yet whether its final terms will be enough to satisfy hardliners both in the US and Iran.
