Kylie Morris is the former Washington correspondent and the former Asia correspondent for Channel 4 News. She was also the presenter of More 4 News.
Kylie previously worked at the BBC as the Gaza correspondent from 2001-2002, Kabul correspondent 2002-2004, for which she won an FPA award, and then as the BBC Asia correspondent until joining Channel 4 News in 2006.
One of her first assignments for Channel 4 News was reporting the conflict in Lebanon in July 2006, for which we collectively won an RTS Award. She has been in and out of the newsroom in the last two years - recently she reported the Gulnaz film alongside Leslie Knott and Cleminitne Malpas which has just been nominated for another FPA award.
The Pentagon said the strikes were designed to “cripple Syria’s ability to use chemical weapons in the future” – calling the operation “precise, overwhelming and effective”. President Trump also tweeted the words Mission Accomplished, which might conjure up some unfortunate connotations and then later added, for good measure, the USA is still locked and loaded.
President Trump himself has gone rather quiet on the Syrian situation today – instead, venting his anger on the former FBI boss James Comey, describing him as an “untruthful slime ball”. This was after some highly unflattering excerpts from Comey’s new book were released today.
As so often in these turbulent days here in Washington, Trump’s tweets serve to confuse the issue. Never truer than tonight over what America intends to do in responding to Syria’s apparent use of chemical weapons. Kylie Morris has been to Capitol Hill where senators have been questioning what they say is a lack of…
Mark Zuckerberg faced his second day of questioning today in front of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, his reluctant appearance forced because of revelations first broadcast by this programme, and published in the Observer, that the privacy of 87 million Facebook users had been breached and may have been improperly used by Cambridge Analytica…
According to previously unseen documents obtained by Channel 4 News, Cambridge Analytica was pitching its “unique” social media data and “psychographic profiling” to multiple Republican election campaigns in the US after harvesting the profiles of up to 87 million mostly American Facebook users.
Last month we revealed 50 million Facebook profiles could have been harvested by Cambridge Analytica, the political strategists who boasted of helping Donald Trump become president. Now Facebook boss Mark Zuckerberg has admitted that figure could be 87 million, and also – every single user – that is roughly 2.2 billion people – could have…
The activist Brittany Packnett was described by President Obama as a leader whose voice will make a difference for years to come. We asked her whether the world is now remembering the real Martin Luther King, and not a sanitised version.
Donald Trump has hired his third national security adviser in 14 months, after replacing General McMaster with the notoriously hawkish former United Nations Ambassador John Bolton. The move has unsettled allies, who fear the move will serve to harden US foreign policy and do away with the Iran deal.
Kyle Morris is joined by Kurt Bardella, a columnist for USA Today and a former Breitbart media consultant. She starts by asking him about his meeting Cambridge Analytica at the request of Steve Bannon, before he joined Donald Trump’s presidential campaign.
Sheila Jackson Lee, who is a member of the U.S. House Judiciary Committee, joins Kylie Morris to discuss the fallout from the Cambridge Analytica scandal.
Facebook’s billionaire founder and chief executive Mark Zuckerberg has finally found the words to address the data scandal that has spooked the markets, and shaken users’ trust in his previously all powerful platform. Last weekend, Channel Four News, as well as the Observer, and New York Times, revealed how the data analytics company Cambridge Analytica…
Toni Cowan-Brown, from NationBuilder, a software company used by political campaigns across the world, including the Presidential campaign of Donald Trump, and Jamie Bartlett, author of ‘The People vs Tech: How the Internet is Killing Democracy’, respond to Mark Zuckerberg’s statement.
Roger McNamee is a business partner of Sandy Parakilas, but was at one time a mentor of Mark Zuckerberg and an early investor in Facebook.
Evan McMullin ran for the Presidency as an independent and now promotes transparency in politics and the digital world.
Kylie Morris speaks to the senior Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, Congressman Adam Schiff, one of the leading figures investigating Russian interference in the 2016 election. I began by asking him about those comments from Alexander Nix that sounded so dismissive of their efforts to discover what Cambridge Analytica had been doing and how his…
