Cabinet reshuffle: PM promotes trade minister to Conservative Party Chairman

Nine days after he sacked Nadhim Zahawi as Conservative Party Chairman, Rishi Sunak today promoted Greg Hands – who had been a trade minister – as his replacement.

The Prime Minister also took the opportunity to create a couple of new ministries, creating a separate energy department and another devoted to science, innovation and technology.
