Campaigners urge government to resentence all those serving indeterminate sentences

It was a law which sent people to prison for an indefinite period.

But exactly 10 years after it was abolished – almost 3,000 people in England and Wales are still languishing in jail under the Imprisonment for Public Protection measure – and many say they see little prospect of release.

Campaigners are now urging the government to re-sentence all the remaining IPP inmates with a response expected soon.
