Canary Islands volcano: rivers of lava reach sea

Ten days after the first eruptions on the Spanish island of La Palma, rivers of lava from the Cumbre Vieja volcano have now reached the sea, sending plumes of steam into the sky and reshaping the coastline.

Over 600 homes have been engulfed, and yesterday Spain declared the island a disaster zone.
