Chancellor says the NHS to get whatever resources it needs to tackle Coronavirus

The impact of the coronavirus will doubtless dominate the Budget – when the new Chancellor Rishi Sunak delivers it on Wednesday.

Today he promised the NHS would get whatever resources it needs. But the disruption brought by the virus looks set to slash economic growth and cut into government tax revenues.

That could make it much tougher for the government to stick to its own fiscal rules.
