Child poverty increases in northern England and Midlands, charities say

Child poverty shamed Britain even before the pandemic. Now after months of economic and social turmoil, it’s little surprise that it’s getting worse.

New figures show that whilst the worst areas of the country for child poverty remain in many areas across the capital city, it’s the Midlands and the north of England where it is rising fastest.
