Children are trying to make sense of Ukraine war, says War Horse author

40 years ago, the tale of a horse who embarked on an extraordinary journey to face battle in World War One, became a literary hit.

War Horse has continued to captivate young readers ever since, but now children are once again growing up against a backdrop of war in Europe.

I spoke to the book’s author, Sir Michael Morpurgo, about how the world has changed since his own childhood.
