Children will not be placed at Feltham after inspection of young offenders’ institution

The Ministry of Justice has imposed a temporary ban on sending children to Feltham Young Offenders’ Institution in the wake of an urgent inspection that found an “extraordinary” decline in safety and care.

Campaigners say that doesn’t go far enough and all children currently in Feltham A should be moved out.

The MoJ say it’s bringing in more experienced staff to help safeguard the boys inside.
